The gauge shown to the right is used for comparative assessment of turbine blades to a known master, prior to fitment to the final assembly. Used as an aid for selective assembly towards balancing the fixture provides the following features.

“Digital test indicator with integral data collection”

The digital setting clock on this tool is capable of collecting measurement data and exporting this to a computer for statistical analysis via a tool such as NWA Quality Analyst or mini-tab.

“Integral setting master”

The selective assembly for balancing requires that each blade is assessed not to drawing - but to a consistent datum part. Once assessed, the serial number of the turbine blade is recorded onto the part and assembled to the rotor for final balancing.

  • Benefits

    • Automatic data collection -
      • No additional resource required to gather the data you require for analysis
      • Reduces the risk of errors associated with manually entering data
    • Builds quality into the operation at each step of the process
    • Reduces time required for future operations.
